Mark your calendar! The SAGHS Annual Fall Seminar takes place on 20 October at the Cross Roads Church (formerly John Calvin Presbyterian Church) in San Antonio. Our speaker is Kelvin L. Meyers. Kelvin brings a great knowledge of social sciences, history, genealogy, and some “P I” techniques to his work. His experience includes 18 years as a professional genealogist and 28 years as an avid researcher-historian.

Introduction to Forensic Genealogy
A graduate of Texas Tech University, Kelvin was a staff member of the Dallas Public Library Genealogy section for ten years. He attended the Institute of Genealogy and Historical Research of Samford University, studying Advanced Methodology and Library Research. Currently, he contracts with attorneys, the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Services, and heir-searching companies as a forensic genealogist, locating missing or unknown heirs to estates or oil and gas royalties. He has published three books on his native Crosby County, including Early Records of Crosby County Land District, West Texas 1880–1915. He was the co-compiler of the Crosby County Cemetery Records published through the Cosby County Historical Commission.
