The Career of Seaman Pettit Bolles

This panoramic photo of the San Antonio Police Department was taken 15 October 1922. It is part of the Bolles Collection, donated to the SAGHS library by the family of Seaman Pettit Bolles and Mary Lee (Williamson) Bolles. Seaman Bolles was born 23 June 1912 in Washington, D.C., the son of Major General Frank Crandall Bolles and Irene (Pettit) Bolles, and died 6 June 1986 in Dallas. This collection details Seaman Bolles’ career in law enforcement in the San Antonio area, as well as that of his father in the United States Army. In addition, researchers will also find information concerning the ancestry of Mary Lee (Williamson) Bolles, along with many photographs, letters, family group sheets, pedigree charts, and copies of original documents.
