This collection of postcards of the orignial Buckhorn Saloon in San Antonio was donated to the Society in August 2020.
The collection of wild animal trophy mounts was began by Albert Freidrich (1864-1928) in 1881. His parents were Wenzel and Agnes Urbaneck Friedrich.
Albert brought his collection into the orignal Buckhorn Saloon in 1896 he bought on the corner of Soledad amd West Houston Streets. Over the years, his collecton was grown by his own hunting trips, and bought from other hunters. He sometimes would offer a drink for anyone that would bring in a set of horns to add to the display.
These postcards are of this saloon and his trophy collection of this era.
